Thrifty moms out there? Garage sale season is here!

Any moms here that love to hit up garage sales and thrift stores?

This is the first weekend around here that we're having garage sales, and I'll be up at 7 tomorrow, bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Me and S/O are going to try and see if we can get everything secondhand. (Of course, I know about checking recalls for things.)

We're just a frugal couple. We like nice things of course, but our house looks like an old lady died and left all her stuff. I decorate w/vintage and retro things, so it looks pretty 70's in my house. Lots of mustard yellow and avocado green!

I don't think we'll buy baby stuff tomorrow, I'm just on the hunt for another hutch, but you never know!

This is my plan- especially with furniture for the nursery. I want to find stuff that I can fix up with the colors I want, frugal and crafty!

Yup, we spent last weekend at garage sales and our fave thrift stores! We got a few random things for the new house but nothing for baby. There was a cute bassinet at one, but I don't know. I'm nervous about getting things second hand for the baby. The FT

We don't have a lot of garage sales, but we do get yard sales at the farmers' market once it opens.  Yay!

I got my leather sofa off Craigslist for $90! It's a little faded in some spots, but it does the job.

And I love my avocado green velour 70's easy chair and ottomen. $20 at an estate sale. Thanks, dead lady!

I LOVE garage sales.  I don't need too much for this LO but I'm hoping to get some toys and clothes for my DD and anythig I see for this LO.

Thanks for reminding me! I think I will hit some up tomorrow. We need some more storage for the play room. I love finding old furniture and repainting it. Ds2's dresser is one we redid and it my favorite thing in his room.

We have plenty of money to shop at department stores, however; my 9 yo is horribly hard on clothes (she's very active and while girly she loves to play with the boys) .... so it makes more sense for me to buy her bottoms (jeans and shorts) at Goodwill

I work Saturdays at the salon so I miss out on most of the good yard sales! Next Saturday is the city wide yard sale day in my town and it usually runs over into Sunday, so I'm going to be on the lookout.

I belong to a bunch of local virtual tag sale groups on Facebook. I've gotten so many toys for DS for dirt cheap. As long as I can throw it in the wash or bleach it down I'm good to go.
