Carseats

I have my old carseat and stroller from my daughter. I heard from a friend that I would need a new carseat because its been almost 5 years?! Is that true?

Re: Carseats

  • It might be.  Check the date on the side of the carseat and then look up when it expires on your manufacturers website.  Some will have an expiration date posted on the carseat too.  We have a graco infant seat and it expires 6 year

  • Loading the player...
  • The stroller won't be expired, but there is a very large possibility the carseat is expired.  It should have a date it was manufactured on it, and the company will state how long from the date it was manufactured that it is safe to use.

After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter! Lilypie First Birthday tickers

  • Thanks Ladies!!!! I learned something new also!!!! Hope all of your pregnancies are going well?!
  • Just out of curiosity...why do car seats expire?? Is it something in the make of them or just that safety standards change so often?

  • The foam also compresses due to heat and use. A car seat should also never be bought used and it should be replaced after a car accident due to wear and strain on the plastic that makes it less safe.
