Vaginal pain during intercourse

My husband and I tried last night and afterwards, I just felt so sore and.. raw. Has anyone felt this? Is this even normal?

    I think it's normal. There's more blood flow than normal so you might be more sensitive and I've heard you can also bleed a little bit after intercourse.

    Okay, good! Everything I've read online referenced STDs, but not pregnancy, so it was a little disconcerting. Strange that none of the books I've read thus far have talked about this!

    I experienced this with my first pregnancy.  When I went in for my first ultrasound they told me I had some small polyp (little growth) which is very common early in pregancy and that they usually go away on their own during the pregnancy.  M

    I haven't yet. I have my first appointment today, but they probably won't do an ultrasound until I'm a few more weeks along.
