Shopping cart woes

DD will not sit in a shopping cart.  She either manages to wiggle out of the strap and stand up or she screams and cries.  I have tried giving her things to distract her but she just throws them.  I can't trust her to walk beside the cart yet.  The only option I have is to wear her which at 9 months pregnant is exhausting and sometimes painful.  Any suggestions????

  • I hope someone has good advice. I went to store yesterday and DS does the same thing. I tried putting him in the big part and he decided to throw stuff out of the cart onto the floor. So annoying! I've noticed the big two seater carts at Target that strap

  • What about using their stroller and making smaller grocery store runs.  I did this for a while with DD because it was easier.  I put her in her stroller and brought a couple of reusable grocery bags that I either carried or attached to the handl

  • I let Alex "help" with the groceries. Whatever I want to buy, I get out of the shelf and hand it to him. He then looks at it, shakes it and throws it into the cart. While he does that, I am already at the next thing he can hold. I also bring snacks that t

  • Thanks ladies. Snacks used to work but she is not really interested in food these days. Her version of "helping" is pushing the cart with one hand while I carry her.

I am afraid the stroller is our best bet or shopping after she goes to be

  • Give it another chance, and just be firm on your expectations (also, if she's able to wiggle out of the straps, tighten them up since most can be adjusted).  Or, if worse comes to worse, the stroller or shopping after she's in bed..

I personally would get a leash although I know some people are opposed to them.

    Can't do it
