Friend with same name as baby

How particular are you about giving your baby the same name as a friend of yours.  Not naming the baby after your friend or in honor of her necessarily, but like, maybe you really like the name Emily.  And you have a good friend named Emily and she lives around the corner and you see her often.  Would you name your daughter Emily?

I share a name with someone my mom was close to when I was born but I wasn't really named after her. I've never met her. It has never been an issue.

If I loved the name Emily and couldn't think of another name I liked as much, I would use it. Yo

I'm weird about this, but I purposely crossed names off the list if I had a friend with the same name.

There were some names that I really liked but had someone too close to give the child that name also. MH and I love the name Rebecca but won't use it probably  because we have a very close friend with that name.

I don't think I'd have the balls. Honestly the thought just makes me feel really awkward. Almost like i'm naming the child after them even though I'm not.

I wouldn't care at all. Actually, one of my best friend's names is on our list. Same situation ? we wouldn't be naming her after her in any way, it's just a name we both happen to really like.

I absolutely love the name Swan, and it's my coworker's name.  Obviously it's a very uncommon name, so this is a tricky situation for me. I would love to name a daughter that, as it also sounds great with my last name, but everyone at work would thin
