Diaper Rash Lesson

Lesson Learned!

Poor Connor's little butt was red from diaper rash last week and it was very upsetting for everyone involved. I am pretty sure it was from the new brand of diaper wipes we had opened and it seems as though he has inherited my ridiculous skin sensitivity.  I was putting on diaper rash ointment every diaper  change to help, but after two days of treatment it did not look any better.  As I was scheduling a pediatrician visit I read the labels of the cream I was using and another cream that was given to me...

Evidently there are two strengths of diaper rash ointment! I was using 15% zinc oxide while I had a tube of 40% zinc oxide hiding in a drawer.  I used the 40% tube and the rash went away within 24 hours.

  • Which brand? My daughter has had a pesky rash for more than a week that is almost healed but the back of her crack will not heal up!! My pedi told me to use triple paste which really helped but OMG is it expensive!! And there is still that little bumpy pa
