I'm not sure if I'm over-reacting to what happened so I present it to you ladies to help me to figure myself out lol. I realise I've been sitting on this for some time but the more I think about it the more furious I get and I need to know if I'm crazy and if not, what should I do... yay pregnancy hormones...*sigh*
The issue is this: DD got her first MMR vaccination back in December (2012) along with her Dip, Tet, Pert and Polio. Jump to February 2013 and we're back for another vaccination (they called us to book it). We arrive at the office (which is a 90 minute drive from home) and the nurse weighs and measures DD. She then asks why are we there... We tell her she's getting her next vaccination and the nurse ask us which one... I explain that I've lost her card so I'm unsure and she reassures me that they have a copy and she'll go check DD's file and tell the Dr. So, ten minutes later the Doc comes in:
Doc: "So, what's going om with DD today?"
Us: "Um, you told us DD needed a vaccination."
Doc: "Ok, which one?"
We explain the lost Immunization card issue (again)
Doc: *opens DD's file and quickly flips through it* Ok, well, looks like she's here for her MMR. I'll get the nurse to set it up and she'll be right back. *Doc leaves*
10 minutes later a nurse comes in, gives DD the shot and send us on our way (without seeing the Doc again).
When we get home, something is really nagging at me and I tear the house apaer looking for the old Immunization card and when I do find it (a few days later) I compair it to the new one the Doc's office gave us and realise that they gave DD ANOTHER shot of MMR! I was livit. This is an vaccination that she isn't supposed to have for another 4-6 YEARS and she got it months apart because the doctor was too lazy to take the time to properly check her file.
I understand that MMR isn't dangerous in a large dose but there some (live) vaccinations that could cause issues in multiple doses.
Am I within my rights to be as angry as I am? If so, what should I do?
Sorry for the long read...
Re: Idiot pediatrician (am I overreacting?)
A part of me wants to say that you really should have checked on her records before going in and that you are partly to blame. You can't call the doctor lazy for not checking her records before getting a shot when you did the same thing.

Uh, NO to any of this being your fault. Is it also your responsibility to remind your surgeon what they're operating on after you're knocked out? It is the Dr's responsibility to keep this information, not yours. If you like to keep a record for
