1st Trimester

Telling a potential employer I'm expecting.

So I am currently unemployed and have a 2nd interview tomorrow with an advertising company. Considering it's a 2nd interview, the possibility of a job offer is promising. If I'm hired, should I tell them right away or wait until I'm finally in my 2nd trimester? I'm nervous about them possibly not wanting to hire me knowing I'm pregnant. Thanks.

When I was pregnant with my first, I was interviewing for jobs. I was already into my second trimester when I finally interviewed for, and was offered, the job I have now. I waited until I

  • It's tricky and really comes down to what you feel comfortable with.  Legally they can't not hire you because you're pregnant but we all know you can't prove they didn't have other reasons.  So for that reason, it makes sense to wait.  Howe

  • This is probably a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.  If you want the job, do NOT tell them before you have the job, and even then wait until you are well into your second trimester.  Since you will have been there less than a

  • I wouldn't tell them until after you start your second trimester. It is none of their business at this point anyways.

  • I did this during my first pregnancy. I knew I was pregnant but still in the 8th or 9th week when I started job hunting. I didn't finish the interviewing process with the company and initial training until around 21 weeks! Fortunately I wasn't showing, I

  • But elmoali you are right in the sense that if an employer would have a very hard time accommodating you, they would not have to. This is more likely if your role is very specialized (so it would be hard to hire a temp for a few months) o
