1st Trimester

Due 12/20 so I'm very early along, but...

I'm so nervous for my first ultrasound and check up to just hurry up and get here! I will be seen at 9 weeks, which is May 16th. Which means its soooo far away.

Any advice on being patient before your first appointment? Haha

  • Congrats! I'm due with my first 12/17 and having the same issue. My first apt is May 7th but they said they won't even listen for the heartbeat till the second apr which is the end of may!! I am driving myself crazy.
  • congrats!  I was super anxious before my appt. too, so I feel ya!  There's not much I can suggest besides just try to relax, enjoy the new pregnancy, start making your baby plans, & keep busy with activities when you can - helps time go by f

  • That's crazy! My doctors here gave me an internal ultrasound the first day I came in just to see the sac, which was at 5 weeks. Then another at 6 weeks to see the heartbeat. I'm due 12/12/13!

  • Well I had my first u/s at 6 weeks due to my surgical history and even that seemed like the longest wait ever, but just remember, the longer you wait the more you'll get to see, esp seeing that awesome little heartbeat flicker :)

  • Consider yourself lucky, lol. For us military moms, unless there are problems, we have to wait until 20 weeks! I'm so jealous of those women who get more than one

  • Congrats! My baby's ETA is 12/21! I am in the same boat as you, my first u/s is 5/13 and it seems and eternity away. I haven't had any symptoms really except for frequent urination and sore breast, and a positive pregnancy test.
  • Be so happy ladies! It comes quicker than you'd think:
I was feeling perfectly fine, then around 6.1 weeks I was on the bus to the doctors.
I had to pull the cord and run off it completely on the wrong side of town and I barely made it off before I

  • Seems like most people I've talked to don't get in to see a doctor until 9 or 10 weeks. I called my dr. the morning after I tested positive and they got me in 3 days later for an u/s at five and a half weeks. I've actually had two u/s already at 12 weeks

  • I am surprised that people do not go until 9 or 10 weeks!  I am due 12/25 and my first ultrasound is next Friday ...I'll only be 6 weeks.

  • I know, I wish I were going earlier. I actually could have gone a week earlier, but it would be with a midwife or Doctor other than my own OB. I didn't want my 1st appointment to be with someone else. My OB has been in my life for 12 or 13 years.
