This may be controversial, but what would you do if you found out that your LO was allergic to your pets? Not life threatening, but just mild-moderate consistent runny nose, coughing, sneezing, etc. Would you medicate and clean, or would you re-home your pets? I say theoretical because I don't think anyone will test for animal allergies this early, but I'm afraid we may be facing this.

That's a tough one. I would like to say my child's comfort trumps my dogs, but I've had them for 10 and 11 years and am quite attached to them.
I hope this question remains theoretical in your house.
