Got pregnant during house remodel..

So we are in the middle of a house remodel and I got pregnant. What we are having done is new trim and doors and closet doors being put in and being painted white, new windows being put in, and new carpet in the entire upstairs. Once we found out I was pregnant we switched to zero voc paint and I haven't been doing any of the painting. Right now I'm staying at my parents until the construction is mostly done. My ob freaked me out and gave me a really vague answer about how I should avoid paint and vocs. I can't avoid my house forever and need to move back in eventually! Even new carpet has vocs so does this mean I'm screwed regardless?

  • Something like volatile compounds. Basically poisons or gasses that products release or off gas when they are new. Everything has it, paint, new carpet, new furniture, new mattresses, caulk, new cars etc.
  • Hmmm ? I would just have your husband air out the house as much as possible while he is there working .Other than that IDK. Your OB might not be familiar and that is why he or she didn't respond. I would just research it on your own until you can talk to

  • We gutted our house to the beams and remodeled everything while I was pg with my son. I stayed away if there was any kind of plastering or something along those lines going on but other than at I helped with a lot of the remodel. I just made sure to ke

  • Thanks ladies for the advice! How long did you let the house air out before returning? We have been having the windows open during construction and I'm only there maybe 5 mins every few days just to see the progress. I want to go home when it's all done
  • We are just finishing up a complete remodel with our whole second story removed and rebuilt as well as a side addition.  I am living here.  The rooms were all painted a few weeks ago before I found out I was pregnant.  My husband is tiling
  • I paint murals for a living so I asked as soon as I got my first beta back which happened to be while I was standing on a ladder painting at a client's house. My doctor said it is fine as long as the room I'm in is well ventilated. He was more concerned a
