Trouble TTC

Will trigger shot hurt?

Hi ladies! I was supposed to be taking a trigger shot tonight at 8pm. I got a positive OPK yesterday afternoon. I was not going to take the trigger shot tonight given my body is already gearing up to release an egg however, now Im thinking I should! Last month I got 8 positive ovulation tests in a row. Everyone said it could be from my body gearing up and then not doing it and I dont want to deal with that again this cycle. Id like to know for sure I ovulated and not miss the window. Doc said I shouldnt need it if I got a positive OPK but im thinking itd be helpful to be positive of the moment I ovulated instead of gearing up and failing and gearing up again and missing it. Any thoughts?

I believe it won't hurt, if in the event I am already ovulating before the shot?

On Thursday morning one egg was 17.8mm and my right egg was almost 21mm so he said by today itd be about 24mm.

(I also temp and I do not think I have had a significant enough rise to imply Ovulation yet)

  • Take the trigger! It only hurts a pinch, hardest part is getting the nerve to do it. Follies grow one to three mm a day and I've had on up to 29mm before trigger. Obviously you don't want it that big but you get my point.

  • It doesn't really hurt. Mine were all IM, so a decent length of needle going into my butt muscle. Not something I get excited about doing but in the grand scheme of things not terrible.
