We have a chronically leaky shower---it is all ceramic tile (including the shower floor) with glass doors. Water keeps leaking into the basement and to make a long story short, I think the best thing is going to be replacing the whole thing. The problem is that the tile in the shower extends onto the walls of the bathroom...so if we change the shower, we have to remove that too. So basically, we might as well just remodel the whole thing since we need a new floor in the bathroom too. Anyway, I plan on getting some estimates, but I'm curious how much your basic, nothing fancy bathroom remodel runs. We are in Illinois as I know it probably varies.
Not exactly in the budget now that we are expecting again, but I don't know that we can avoid it.

Our bathroom was about $5,000 in materials and for a hired plumber. My dh did the rest of the work himself.
If I remember correctly it was:
$1200 for the plumber (keep in mind we moved our shower/bath from one side of the room to the other)

My DH and I bought a foreclosure about two years ago. This house was in SERIOUS need of love and repair. No one had cared for it since 1968 when it was built. The master bathroom did not work - as in, the hot water was not even hooked
