July 2012 Moms

Help me with my new mom survival kit

I have a friend who will be a July '13 mom, and I'm making her a postpartum survival kit.  Here's what I have so far, but I'd like suggestions and input as to what you ladies found essential, since I find I'm quite fuzzy on that time:

  • Nursing pads (bfing)
  • Soothies
  • Lanolin
  • A variety of pads and pantyliners
  • Tucks pads
  • Huge insulated cup with lid and straw

What am I forgetting?  It feels like I'm missing a lot!

  • She can get the cup from the hospital. Thats where mine came from anyway.

    Chapstick! or the EOS Balm. 

    I lived in my stomach binder, but I had a c-section and dont know your budget.

  • I second a package of granny panties! And the food gift card is a nice idea too. Maybe a couple packages or granola bars or something to keep by her nursing station?

  • You guys are awesome!  I knew I was missing vital items.  Keep the suggestions coming!
  • Fuzzy socks with no slip grips on the bottom or a pair of slippers
  • a can of dry shampoo and flushable wipes

  • As a mom who has delivered vaginally and via csection, I will suggest dermaplast and abdominal binder, maybe nipple butter, soothies for nips, big azzzz pads. But Joi nailed the most important thing....food. Maybe bring dinner over or give gift card for p

  • I second the dry shampoo,  chapstick, FUZZY socks.  I ate a crap load of oatmeal cookies in the first month and swear that is what helped with milk production!
