Babysitter

I'm in desparate need of a babysitter. I have had a hard time through friends because a lot of them don't use sitters or they have one and that person usually isn't free. I'd like to build a database of a few sitters I can call.

Anyone find a weekend babysitter on care.com? i'm nervous about someone but I guess I try them out while we're home and then go from there?

Can you also ask your daycare provider? Some of the teachers at our daycare sit (and it's permitted) so that was a general no-brainer for me as they already know my kid and she's familiar with them as am I.

If you or your husband work, does any of your co-workers have a daughter old enough to babysit??  We just found our new babysitter this way.

We have a couple of neighbor teenagers who have been fighting over babysitting DD.  Do you have anyone in your neighborhood you could ask?
