Cloth Diapering

Velcro/Aplix

Hello,

So I have a pretty large stash and am contemplating selling all of my velcro/aplix diapers.  I HATE when they come undone and stick to everything in the wash and I am not patient enough to sort them out and put them in their own laundry bags.  I have about 20 bumgenius and a few Kawaii's.  I was going to ask $200.00 for the bumgenius but I can not find a solid resale value on the Kawaii's.  Two of them are the HD2 and 2 Funprint.  Thoughts please.  OR , for those of you with older babies (DS is only 12 weeks), did you like your velcro when the babies got larger.....as in did they somehow become your favorites?  Any input is appreciated!  Thanks ladies.

Re: Velcro/Aplix

  • I'm still new to this, as DD is only 3 weeks old, but right now, I'm actually having the opposite problem! I bought mostly snaps, thinking I would like those better than the aplix, for the reasons you just said, but instead, I wish my entire NB stash had

  • I don't have any personal experience with older babies and Aplix....but I've heard from other moms that as they get older, they figure out how to undo aplix and then you'll find your toddler tearing asss through the house with no drawers on. lol...

  • I preferred aplix when she first started one size because they were bulky and I could get a better fit. But I have fallen out of love big time. Some already seem to be losing their stickiness (RaRz), and others that are super sticky have come undone in th

Have you thought about converting the aplix to snaps?  ITK made a tutorial that seems pretty easy (I haven't
  • I prefer aplix. I feel like I get a better fit. It seems easier to me when I've got a wiggly baby or toddler.

  • I like both aplix and snaps.  Snaps have better longevity, but I can get a better fit with aplix.  Some of my diapers have great aplix (Blueberry) and others don't (BG).  DD was able to undo aplix at 7 months, but she was over it in a few d
  • Instead of the laundry tabs, just fasten the covers inside out before you throw them in the pail. They will not come undone in the wash.

I would have gone nuts with only snaps. DS was not a cooperative guy at diaper changes for a solid 8 months t

  • I'm not surprised to find that you don't like the BG aplix.  Most people don't.  However, I would at least keep the HD2s.  I love mine and they come in really handy when DS is acting like a squirmy monkey on the changing table (which is

  • Aplix is great during the super wiggly stage, 6 months or so. I did have my BG aplix replaced after a year or so though.
  • I got rid of all my BG 4.0's with aplix. They wore so badly. I only have snaps in my stash, and it works just fine for me.
