If you have a 9 month old exactly

Tell me what they are doing in terms of speech.

The twins are turning 10 months, but they were born 5 weeks early. (so technically can be compared to that age)

My DD is doing mamama, baba, etc.

DS only says consonants every once in a while and really he just does "mmmmmm" on a regular basis.

We haven't gotten to our 9 month pedi appt. because the kids have been continually sick and they want you to be healthy when they do that blood test.

P.s.  he is ahead of her physically (almost crawling).  she seems to be ahead mentally.

Re: If you have a 9 month old exactly

  • Charlie is 9 months and 6 days and mainly she does bababababa, but recently she's starting to practice with the mmmmm sound.

Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.

  • Lots of mamamama, dadadada, nananana, and various other random babbly sounds.  Last night he was making a weird growly laugh thing, like he pretending to be a horse or something.

  • Mamamama a lot, baba baba, blablablabla, baybaybay, tha tha tha tha, and occasionally dadadada bit not very often at all.
Oh and the obvious squeals and some growls and he does tons of these gasp noises when he's excited

  • E will be 9 months in less than a week.   She's just recently introduced consonants, but I couldn't even swear what consonant it is.  It mostly sounds like "laalaalaalaa" with her tongue exaggerated outside her mouth.  Occasionally

  • My LO turned 9 months on Monday and she is basically doing mama, dada and ssss (like a snake, no idea where this came from). She just started to crawl as well.
