is so embarrassing.  He loved Tom Selleck and Magnum PI and not only had the moustache (which he still has), but he also wore the short OP cordouroy shorts and hawaiian shorts.  At least he lived in AZ where he could pull it off.  He didn't get rid of the shorts until the mid-90s.

EDIT:  Like I said in my reply in the waterbed post, my parents got divorced in the 80s and my dad totally got into being single.  It was hilarious & embarassing at the same time.  I think his Tom Selleck phase was the ultimate divorced guy thing to do...

we might be related, except my dad is in pennsylvania...he STILL wears shorty shorts around the house, and my brother caught him getting the mail in Shorty shorts and a bright blue...blouse? tied in a knot at his stomach. He had been laying in the sun. His moustache needed sunning, I guess.

did I mention he is vegan? Also, although my Ma seems totally normal, she is still happily married to this man, my father.
