Update since my post about my DCP leaving DD in her carseat to nap...on Friday my friend who is pregnant & due in May went over to DCP house to go over contract (she was going to be taking her LO there later this summer after her maternity leave is over) and DD was sitting in her car seat not sleeping just sitting there. My pregnant friend was there from 2:30- 4 (she was already in car seat when she arrived) and I pick up DD at around 4:15- she fed her in car seat as well. I had a feeling that she was spending many hours of the day in the car seat anyways, the past few weeks her butt has been really red & starting to blister which makes me think she was sitting in poop for many hours (that is another long story). Back to Friday- after talking to my pregnant friend on my way home I was furious & called DH to let him know that there is NO WAY I would be taking DD back there. I worked on finding someone else to start taking DD starting today (a friend from work highly recommonded a lady who took care of her son- I wish I would have found her sooner). DH called DCP yesterday and said that we felt as if DD was spending too much time in the car seat (sleeping in there, eating in there & she had numerous diaper rashes) and for that reason we would not be returning. Her response was "okay- fine" following by a click of her hanging up on DH... we were fully prepared to have a long coversation with her trying to defend herself and tell us that we owed her for two weeks but nothing just "okay- fine". This clearly made our decision that much easier as under any other circumstance we would have been more than happy to keep our end of the deal and pay her the two weeks notice but the contract never stated that our 6 month old would be sitting in her car seat all day long. Later in the day yesterday DCP called pregnant friend crying that she didn't understand what happen & wanted to know if she would still be using her when LO is born. Umm, if she didn't understand why didn't she ask DH when he called her??? He was very nice & never raised his voice at her (which is why he called cause I would have went the F*&$ off on her!)
So, now DD is in a much better situation with someone who I know loves her & will care for her the way I wanted the whole time. Thanks for all of your advice- this was horrible but luckily worked out for the best!
Re: Sleeping in car seat update
I didn't read the initial post but I'm glad you were able to find back up care immediately b/c obviously that situation was beyond rediculous. That kind of thing scares me b/c I know it can so easily happen, it's not easy to detect, and it really
I feel terrible that your LO has a rash from this terrible person leaving her in her poop. I can't imagine how I would react but I know it would take someone to calm me down.
Is your friend still going to use her? I didn't catch you mentioning
'I loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more'

That would make my blood boil.
What a ***.
Based on your post last week, I was kind of undecided. I do let my DD nap in her seat if she falls asleep in the car.
But, I can't believe she would leave her in there, awake, the entire time a prospective Mom was there. At
I'm glad you found someone else but this is PRECISELY why I use a daycare and not an in-home. There is no accountability at in-homes.
At our daycare the teachers change diapers at least every two hours; obviously right away if soiled.&
