For those who had a D&C

I had my D&C on Wed, the procedure was relatively painless.  I didn't have heavy bleeding, some on and off spotting.  My back started to hurt a little, not sure if it has anything to deal with D&C.  What is the next step?  My RE told me to go back and check my blood next wed (two weeks after the procedure).  Do you know if they will also do an ultrasound and check the lining?  I guess in general what is the next step?

    I'm sorry for your loss.  Based on my time on the miscarriage/loss board, I think the experiences vary based upon the doctor.   I had a 2 week follow-up appointment, but there was no examination or blood work done, so I can't speak to that.
    Me-41, Hubby-40.
    1st BFP-8/17/12!  Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US.  D&C.
    2nd BFP-2/13/13!  Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
    3rd BFP-5/22/13!  By early June, progesterone plummeting.  Another loss.
    August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.

    I haven't had a D&C, but I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about your loss.  Hope that you are able to heal quickly and move forward in life. Sending hugs!

    Ticker warning..

    After my DC I had a two week followup both times. Physical exam and bloodwork to make sure my levels were dropping. No ultrasound at that point because everything looked good. I was told to wait two to three normal cycles
    Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.

    I had a D&E.  Like the other ladies I had a follow up visit shortly after, I just can't remember the exact timeline.

     I am so sorry about your loss.  ((HUGS))

    BFP #2 Oct 20, 2010; My little boy was born on July 5, 2011

    BFP #3 April 30, 2013; Chemical Pg May 5, 2013

    BFP #4 Aug 22, 2013; It's a boy.  Loss discovered at 24 weeks on Jan 15, 2014 (cause CMV virus)

    So sorry for your loss.  After my DnC I had a recheck in 4 weeks all it was, was me talking to the Dr he never even looked at me.  No blood work or US at that time.  I have a feeling some Drs are different but I am not sure if anyone get
