Hello! I am a guidance counselor and I went back at 6 weeks for 3 weeks then had the summer off. I pumped when she was 6 weeks old every time she ate which was every 4 hours. By the time the summer was over and she was 4 months old I started pumping 2 times a day. Around 5-6 months I went to pumping only once because I just couldn't find the time. I have a huge freezer stash so I can afford to only pump once and still keep up with what she is eating.
For the first four months, I only had to pump twice a day to keep up. Now, DS needs 3 x 7oz bottles at daycare plus some milk for his rice cereal and I have had to pump 3 times at work and once before I go to bed. I have been getting about 21-23oz. total/day this way. He breastfeeds in the morning and at dinner time. Good Luck!
When I was pumping at work it would be 1x per day. Usually around 11:00. ?I would get anywhere from 10-15 oz in 15 minutes. ?I then pumped again when I got home around 5:00 and would get about 8 oz during that time. ?
I went back to work at 5 months. I pumped in the morning while nursing her before work, twice at work (10 and 1, home by 5), and then I pumped before bed about 2 hours after her last feeding. I pumped for about 15-20 min.
When i was pumping at work I had to pump 2-3 times a day. I tried for 3 most days unless I got enough with just 2 sessions. By around 7-8 months I could get away with just 2 most days. Each was around 15-20 minutes.
I pump once at home when I eat breakfast, and 2x at work. The pump runs for about 10 minutes. Pump breaks are 15-20 minutes, by the time I get back to my desk.
I work 7a-5p...i try to pump 3 times a day for 15 mins or so. I pump around 830 or 9, 12ish, and 3pm.... I usually get 5-6oz per pump...You will get a system down that will work for you depending on your last feed before you leave in the morning.. good luck
I pumped 2x per workday when I was pumping. Maybe 20 minutes for the whole deal from leaving my desk to getting back. I have a more flexible job now and can go home at lunch, so I hope to pump 3x per day after #2 is born and I go back to work. I wasn't getting quite enough to keep up with her by the end of my pumping (stopped around 8 months).
Well it has been awhile, but I pumped exclusively for the first 10months (due to latching issues) and I had to return to work when Ethan was 4 weeks, so this schedule worked well:
hands free pumping while driving to work 7:00am
pump on my lunch break 12:00pm
hands free pumping while driving home 4:00pm
If you are nursing then I would eliminate the afternoon pumping or at least only do it briefly to help relieve the pressure.
You can create a handsfree set up using a regular nursing bra. Just put the shields inside the straps and turn it on.

I pump twice a day at work, usually 10:30 and 3:30, and go to see DD at lunch to BF. Only takes about 15-20 minutes if you double pump.
