XP Denied Short Term Disability

A few weeks before I even knew about this pregnancy I bought short term disability coverage (my employer offers long term only). They billed me for the monthly premium and all was good. I was so happy when I got the +hpt that I had the coverage.

Yesterday I get a letter in the mail stating that to due my treatment of "anxiety and depression" they will not cover me. WHAT? I went on those meds after I had a spinal fusion because I was stuck at home for 3 months. My Dr recently increased the dose, but that's it. I'm pretty happy and didn't think there was any reason to mess with a good thing.

Any suggestions or similar experiences? Not sure what, if anything, can be done Sad

  • I've heard of people being denied as a result of anxiety meds, which is so stupid because sometimes people only take them short term. Sorry this happened to you.
