Nervous about ultrasounds

Due to complications with a previous pregnancy and a poor health history I ended up in the ER on 3/29 where they did an internal ultrasound to confirm that the baby was not ectopic.  On 4/1 I went to the OB and had an internal and external ultrasound to check on the baby's growth and am going back tomorrow for another ultrasound.  Should I be worried about the affect this could have on the baby?

Re: Nervous about ultrasounds

  • No. Women with high risk pregnancies and those who've gone through fertility treatments have far more than that. I'm a little over 10 weeks and I've had four.

  • As someone who has had a u/s at every single DR appt except one from 6 weeks to almost 27 weeks, 3 ultrasounds in a week and a half is a lot.

What are they worried about that they are checking growth so often at this stage?

  • No. The ultrasounds you are getting sound like they are medically necessary to monitor your pregnancy. If you were going in every day for hours at a time just for fun that would be a different story. You trust your doctor to deliver your baby, why worr
