DS has a yeast rash

I feel like a terrible mother :( I thought it was plain old diaper rash and was using desitin.?

He has some prescription stuff to use for the next few weeks. Anyone else dealing with this? I'm doing my best to keep that region dry after cleaning up a diaper change. Airing it out is best but that just causes the him to pee and we're back to square one. Any advice??

Re: DS has a yeast rash

  • DD had a small yeast rash when we brought her home from the hospital (was in the NICU) for a week.  They gave us some prescription cream and we put it on after every changing.  It didn't take long and it went away.  We didn't try to keep her diaper off or anything special like that.  And she's a wetter, too.  It just took a little bit of time and it was gone.

  • DD has a yeast diaper rash and we used the Rx cream which cleared it up in a few days.  We didn't do anything special like leaving the diaper off or anything.  We just made sure to change her right away when she was wet and especially when poopie.  Honestly, the cream was the best for it.
