What do you do? DH and I have been sleeping in separate bedrooms along with the twins (DD in our room in a non-moving swing) and DS in the crib in the nursery while one of us is in a guest room tending to him. We've been doing this because DS has been somewhat STTN over the past few weeks (ex. last night he slept 7-4:15am) and since DH is working, I feel he shouldn't have to get up more than once a night. But DD has been having some issues - she weighs less than DS, so that could be part of it. However she isn't waking necessarily because she's hungry. She'll start crying in her sleep with her eyes closed around 12:30am, but usually puts herself back to sleep. Then wakes around 2:30am to eat, goes back down but sometimes is grunting, crying (softly, not hard) or just restless from 3:30 until we wake up. Sometimes she'll go righ to sleep, but then wakes at 5am and will not go back to sleep although she does seem sleepy.
We had her on acid reflux meds, but honestly she was way fussier than normal while on the Zantac and we didn't notice much improvement. Pedi said it was fine that we stopped and to use our judgment. Anyway, I guess the long way to my question is this: how can we eventually transition our babies to sleeping in separate cribs/same room when they seem to have such different schedules? I'd love to put DD in her crib so DH and I can sleep in our bed together again (ha) and also just have our room back to ourselves which sounds selfish. But it's hard tiptoeing around all the time. I'm afraid that DD will keep DS up and somewhat "ruin" his sleep schedule. How do other MoM's do it?
Re: If one twin is a better sleeper...
Sleep issues are so tough. We had one baby wake up a lot more than the other one. By 4 months B was up once a night and A was up twice a night. Sometimes A would wake up B, but not usually. We we then rock B back to sleep. Then
have you tried them in the same room at all? I have a good and rough sleeper too. usually the rough sleeper will cry and fuss but doesn't often wake the good sleeper at night. it might be worth a couple nights to give it a shot, either you'll be p
