I plan on taking 8 wks of leave after Baby Little is born. We only have one actual daycare center in our area (we live in a very rural part of the state) but it happens to be in the same town I work in. This daycare or a close friend trying to start her own childcare business are really my only viable options once I return to work. I have contacted the daycare and found thye charge $150/wk for infants and the infant room has a max of 4 6wk -18mo olds at a time in it with one adult. I can visit anytime I would like though they want me to call first. What kinds of things should I be looking for when visiting the daycare? Questions to ask? Does the weekly rate sound reasonable? TIA for any advice
Re: FTM looking for advice
Making you call first isn't off putting to me. Our of the 8 places I looked, I think only 2 of them allowed you to just drop in for a visit. One of those places i personally think was 100% all flash and zero good care for kids.
Rates will vary d
I think the rate is definitely reasonable. We live in cheaper state and our infant rate was $160-$180 when looking at centers. In-homes were around $140. Costs are usually higher for infants and then drop for toddler age so keep that in min
