Did anyone see her on the Daily Show this week? She was saying things about how leadership begins on the playground and how girls are still told that if they are aggressive, they are bossy, and they need to be pretty and how you can see it in the schools with girls not wanting to raise their hands.
I just think she seems really out of touch. I do not think this has been true for a long time. When I was in grade school in the 80s, the gifted and talented program was all girls and in high school the top 5 students at graduation were all girls. Yes, the leadership in our country is mostly men, but I don't think that its because of girls not raising their hands in class.

Re: more about the "Lean In" author
This might sound stupid but I really can't take advice from a woman like her. She's filthy rich and out of touch. A mild comparison is Oprah. I can't take her serious. She's so out of touch.

Holy crap I am all over the place here.
I've seen Ms. Sandberg on many shows and some of the stuff makes sense but to a point. I agree with the PP who said it has a lot to do with when we get older. I wanted to rise to the top of my field too unt
Have you ever seen the "freakonomics" take on this? They are a bunch of statisticians (sp?) who basically study statistics and behavior and then opine on why people do what they do.
