NE1 changed OB's later in pg?

I just found out that in April we will be moving back to San Diego.(I'll be around 32 weeks.) I am excited to have my old OB back. Question though, has anyone has to do this and what steps did you take? We do not have a set moving date yet but when I do I plan to call the old OB and and figure out their procedures. What were the bad points? good points? please share your experiences....thanks ladies...

Re: NE1 changed OB's later in pg?

  • I changed at 22 weeks because one of the NP's in my OB's office gave me bad information that if I had listened would of put both myself and DS at risk.  I called the new office and explained the situation and made sure to have a copy of my records ready so that I could pick them up from the old practice for my first appointment with the new OB.  DH and I were very happy with the care that I got at the new practice.  I would call and explain the situation to them and see how they suggest handling it.  Good luck moving back to SD.  We went there on a vacation last year and loved it!

  • thanks for the help, we moved here (Utah) in June. We grew up in SD and its home. we've traveled all over but man, there really is no place like home!
  • I changed at 26 weeks because we moved to a different state.  I just made sure that all of my records were transferred and I went on the local board to find a recommendation.  At my first appointment, I had the new OB outline EXACTLY the next steps week by week throughout the course of my pregnancy.  We also went over my file for the first half of my pregnancy to make sure he was up to date on everything.  It went well!  Good luck.
