Potty Training at 13 1/2 months

DD is 13 1/2 months old.

I know its early but DD seemed like she wanted to use the potty so we got hers out for her and she went on the 1st try. So we have decided to go a head and start putting her on when every we go. We don't want to push it but we want to encouge it. Is anyone else starting?

  • My babies are 20 months and are just starting to say the word "potty" and pointing to the toilet. Soooo they know what it is. I don't see them USING it for a while. But that's just us. Good luck!

  • We introduced the potty at 15 months. He identified the need to go and could communicate it shortly after that, so we got really excited and hopeful that he'd be out of diapers soon.

Now at 26 months, he refuses to poop on the potty and won't wea

  • just as an fyi--there's a reason why the recommendation to potty train is closer to two. a 12 month old child's bladder is not developed enough to hold urine yet for any period of time and it's best for development to let them urinate/deficate on

  • My 16 month old DD is getting interested in the potty. We have put the little potty out and she likes to sit on it. She hasn't gone in it yet, but we aren't pushing it...just letting her get a feel for it and if she goes in the potty we will give her prai

DD is 13 months and no where near ready to be potty trained.  I haven't even really thought about it TBH.  I mean, she is kind of interested in it... as in she will try to put her stuffed animals in it at any opportunity, and thinks it's kind

  • DS has been using a soft toilet insert (like the bumbo brand toilet seat, but cheaper) since 10 months for #2s. We cloth diaper and I was over spraying out poop. At that point though, it was more me being trained (knowing his cues, etc) than him, but n

  • You can try but be prepared for it to just be a fun phase more than anything. My LO was potty obsessed at that age for about 2 weeks, then decided she couldn't careless. I let her play, flush the toilet paper, sit on the toilet etc. but didn't force it

  • I'm not even thinking about that until he's at least 2. I hear most boys PT later though, so we'll see even then.

DD PT'd at 2y2m, but I really don't have that same expectation for DS. We'll see.

  • Nope.  DD potty trained herself at 24 months.  I'll not be starting too early with DS.  Most of the boys I am around tend to learn between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2.
