I think we have our top names!

No, we haven't got our BFP yet, but I'm still excited that I must share!

Our boy name was a given as Harrison Michael, which is the name we chose with DD's pregnancy. Both names are family names; Harrison is DH's and his grandfather's mn, and Michael is my father's fn.

We have been struggling with girl names, but after DH's grandmother revealed her mn at the family reunion on Saturday our troubles were solved (I think). I was very surprised when she was said her mn was Edith because it was my top a few months back, but DH was unsure. I felt like I hit the lottery when it was revealed as a family name!

So, we have Edith as our fn with the nn Edie. I'm a little torn on mn's. Our two choices are Edith Marie and Edith Nell both are intended to honor MIL. I'm leaning toward Nell because Marie is also used on my side of the family, so it feels like it would be overdone. Our last name starts with a C and rhymes with Rain. Thoughts on which to go with?

DD1 is Shelby Kate Louise. Shelby Kate is a double fn. How does Shelby Kate and Edie sound?

Any other suggestions based on DD1's fn, Shelby Kate?

I think either sounds fine, but leaning a little more toward Edith Nell. Just like that it's a little different. Marie is a fine MN (it's mine btw), but it is SO common.

Edith is one of those old-lady names that hasn't come back around for me yet, but I do think that Shelby Kate and Edie complement each other very nicely.

I prefer the flow of Edith Marie, but Nell is nice too.

I love Edith Nell! However, I'm not huge on the nn Edie, simply because I can't stand the actress Edie Falco. I love Edie and Shelby Kate together though. All things considered, I love it!
