Baby's measuring bigger

Hello,

 I am currently 12 weeks pregnant. I got an ultrasound done last week when I was 11 weeks pregnant, and the ultrasound tech said that my baby's measuring a week bigger, but that my due date will remain the same, (10/13/2013). I'm confused about how many weeks I am if my baby's measuring a week bigger. Because a week has passed, does that mean I am still 12 weeks pregnant, or that I am now 13 weeks pregnant (13w based off my baby's measurements). Sooo confusing!

Same thing happened to me!  It wasn't a full week like you, but I went in at 8w1d and she said I was measuring 8w5d.  She said it's fine if they measure over, it's when they are measuring smaller that they like to look into it more.  I was

i am having the same -- but the earliest ultrasounds are the most accurate for dating, regardless of change later on.

I am measuring 6 days ahead but the keep the same due date unless there is a week or more difference.

When you approach the second trimester, some babies begin measuring ahead and others behind.

Okay. Great! So should I keep telling people I'm 12 weeks? Or should I now tell them I'm 13 weeks? Haha it's so confusing.

You're past the time when dating u/s are accurate.  Plus, all u/s have a variance.  If you look at the screen when they do it, there's a +/- with a number of days.  That's the variance.  As you get further along, it goes from 3-4 days
