It's come to the point where we need to start looking for a babysitter/nanny for Ava - just part time right now. I found one girl (I think she is 23) and she lives close by. So far I just talked to her on the phone but she is coming over on Friday to meet us. I have never interviewed anyone for this before so what questions should I be asking? If we like her and she likes us we were thinking of having her come to do a few hours while we are home for a couple days before we leave her completely alone with Ava.
Also I had to ask her if she was ok with animals cause that's kind of a big issue in our house. She said yes and asked what we had. LOL. Once I mentioned the pig that was all she was talking about - how that was her dream pet. Oh boy. I think she is now more excited about meeting the pig then about our baby.
Re: Questions for babysitter/nanny
you can find questions and work agreements online, they are a great resource!
be very up front about your expectations, pay, time off, chores, etc...
ask open ended questions...what kind of activties will she do with LO? how will she de
Also, do you have your nannies do any chores around the house?
