Separate appt for US?

Is it common to have to make separate lab and ultrasound appts aside from your regular checkup? Or are most offices able to take care of these in office? So frustrated having to go to another office...

Re: Separate appt for US?

  • I have to make separate appointments for ultrasounds and bloodwork too. They do the ultrasounds in the office but only Monday and Thursday nights. And bloodwork/glucose testing I have to go to LabCorp for.

  • Thank you all for responding. No, not for my NT, just for all regular appts. I have to go to LabCorp for blood work too! Wondering if I should try to find a doc that does everything in office.
  • I have to get blood drawn at a lab and ultrasounds done at one of the area hospitals.  My doctor does not do either in office.

  • My anatomy scan will be a level 2 since we are looking for a specific paternal birth defect. So that one will be at the hospital's facility.

My other u/s and blood work were are my practices office.

  • my doc can do basic u/s's in office, but for the NT scan and anatomy scan I have to go to the hospital.

for bloodwork, they can do it in office but have to send it to the lab anyway, so they prefer we go straight to the lab.

  • I have always had to go to a lab for bloodwork and a radiologist for ultrasounds - I've never received an ultrasound in my doctor's office, though here I see my GP until nearly half way and am referred to an OB or a maternity clinic, and I don't ge
