Admitting Defeat (Long Vent)

My DD is almost 4 months old and teething.  She is sleeping worse than she was when she was a newborn (up every 2 hours).  I am a stubborn over acheiver that has a hard time asking for help.  My DH has never taken a night shift.  He helps very little with the baby or the house (cleaning, dinner, shopping, ect.).  To be fair, I have to say that it isn?t his entire fault.  I am now a SAHM and try to be Super Mom/Wife with the perfect child, spotless house and gourmet dinner on the table. 

 

Today I had to slam on my breaks because I almost ran a red light.  I am so exhausted that I put the safety of my baby as risk?all because I am too proud to ask for help.

Awww....sounds like you need a nice long bath, massage and a nap!  Don't be afraid to ask for help.  Even super mom needs a break once in awhile too!  Ask your DH to pick up dinner and then take a few hours to yourself.  You deserve it!

You don't have to be perfect- just watching your baby is a full time job!  Let some of the housework go, or get DH's help.  Look for some frozen dinner options instead of making everything from scratch.  If you have one, Trader Joe's is a great place for finding easy and healthy meal ideas.  You can't do it all, it's okay to need help!  Your health and safety need to come first- it's reality, not defeat.
