Working Moms

Productive or tired at night?

Hi, I 'm knew to this board. Wanted to get some opinions here. I have a 3 yo DD and a LO on the way (due in May). My DH gets home from work before I do and he is able to get dinner ready and do a couple of chores. I pick our DD up at my parents on the way home and once we eat dinner, I pretty much feel like I'm done for the night. I mean, I'll play with DD or hang out with her but as far as trying to get laundry done and cleaning up or anything, I just dont' have the energy. Does anyone else feel this way? My mom only worked with me, once my sister was born she stopped and we were 7 yrs apart. She's always saying, if you just do one thing a night then you won't have as much to do on the weekends. Though I understand where she is coming from, the energy just isn't there.

Thanks ladies!

  • Pretty much no I do not have energy at night. I get home around 6 and play with the kids and put them to bed by 8pm. At that time I'll do some chores just straightening up from the day and shower and by 8:30/9pm I am just exhausted. Once in a while I forc

I am also pregnant (due in June) and my energy is shot.  I have decided to give myself a break during the remainder of my pregnancy and not worry about fixing a great dinner or doing cleaning in the evenings.  Luckily my DH has picked up a

  • When I was pregnant I didn't.  Now i try to get one thing done each night.  Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.  I don't really stress over it anymore.  We both work...  our house isn't going to be clean 100% of the time.&nbsp

  • When I was pregnant I had zero energy during the week.  Give yourself a break!  If your DH is around, let him pick up the slack.  Your energy will return after LO is here.  I had more energy when I was on ML even though I was waking

  • When I was pregnant with my 2nd, especially towards the end, I did little to nothing at night after my oldest was down for the night. If I got a burst of energy one night that's when I did as much as I could before I got tired. Weekends were like gold

  • I'm super tired in the evening. I imagine I would be even more tired if I were pregnant too!

We do try to keep up with small things during the week. Like never go to bed with clean dishes, pick up general clutter and toys every night, occasionall

  • I am so glad that this came up. I have been wondering this myself. I get home around 6:00 pm and DS goes down around 8:15, I am also pregnant with DS2. If I get the kitchen cleaned after dinner and pick up the living room, I am happy. I have no energy aft
  • I have no energy at night. I work 7:45-5pm, and by the time I get home, get DD fed and bathed/played with, dinner, etc I'm lucky if I throw a random load in the laundry. Dishes are where I draw the line, the sink must be empty for me to go to bed.
  • Momma you are pregnant! Of course you are exhausted! I try to do little stuff during the week, like throw a load of laundry in, clean up the clutter but save big cleaning projects for the weekend.
  • Depends on the night.  Sometimes super productive, sometimes ready to pass out by DD's bedtime.  I'm not pregnant though.  Give yourself a break!!!
