Hello-
My daughter just turned one and has had 5 ear infections in the last 6 months. The fluid probably never completely drained as well. Last week all of my children got the flu which in turn gave her ear infections that "came and went" over a matter of days. I took her in so much for fever/fussiness and one day one ear was fine then the next both are red/bulging. She started augmentin last night and is seeing the ent tomorrow. I just don't want her on antibiotics so much and each time her ears always look bad enough to need them, according to the doctor. Anyways, I'm new to the whole world of ear infections as my oldest didnt have any and he is four now. I'm hoping tubes will help her. I know that getting tubes this young, they may fall out early then need to get another set but she is so miserable I just want to make her feel better. Has anyone else gone through similar chronic ear issues with their LOs?
Re: Ear infections
DH is on ear infection #5 since the winter. One more ear infection and she gets referred to the ENT. Luckily, only one was pretty bad, the others she seemed a bit cranky and congested, so I would take her to the pedi and she would discover
My girls both have/had tubes. DD1 had 6 ear infections in less than 9 months and was referred to the ENT because she had persistent fluid in her ears. Per the ENT, it probably sounded like she was hearing underwater because of the large amount of fluid
