I just joined the Y this morning and left DD in the childwatch program. She was glued to my hip for about a minute until she saw a girl playing with a doll and took off. She said "hi" and then started to play.
She was doing great so I snuck out. After 20 min I got a call saying she figured out I left and started to cry. She got a minor nose bleed. After I got there she stopped crying, but didn't want me to put her down so we left. We'll try again.
Any advice for making the transition easier? So far she has only been left with grandparents and with a close friend. Did I mess up by not saying good bye?
Just said good bye Sept. 19th (MMC at 12 weeks)
Re: Separation anxiety
That's tough. I always think it's best not to sneak out while they aren't looking though. Even if she cries when you leave I think it's best for her to be aware that you are leaving and less upsetting in the end.
