Disclaimer: I have been at work in the ER for 11 hours and only seen one patient... I have read posts, the stir, played games on my phone, had two meals, read every news article there is.... the joys of holidays for a crisis worker in the ER.
Anyway, I was reading how Kate Middleton's sister wants to throw her a baby shower. My view of a baby shower is a celebration of a new upcoming child not the gifts though I know that is the focus of many showers. I guess I am curious of everyone's views on her having a shower?
It says online (yes we believe everything we read online ) that the royal side is refusing to allow her to have one and if she is given a gift she has to return it to the sender. Now I know they have the money to purchase anything they ever dreamed of and more but I guess my view is a personal shower with close friends and family, a celebration, memories passed along... at mine I got pass me downs that I treasure. My mom gave me a framed cross stitch my grandmother had created before she passed. I received a number of handmade blankets etc... (yes I did get the normal stuff too).
What are your thoughts?
