Because kids are obviously more likely to catch on fire while they're asleep than when they're awake, and I dunno, possibly finding matches or trying to climb on the stove.
I never really got this. Can someone explain why pjs need to be flame resistant? Are children more at risk to catch fire while sleeping? I guess a lot of house fires happen at night time while everyone is asleep? IDK.
I don't pay attention to it. Half of the time, the kids aren't in regular pajamas when they sleep anyways. Do regular clothes specify if they are flame retardant as well? I'm not a tag reader. The kids like to hang out in their school sports t-shirts at n
My understanding is that certain fibers can melt in high temperatures. These are not supposed to be used in children's clothing as the fabric or threads that hold together the clothing could melt onto kids skin. Yes, the flame retardent is bad as well.
