cloth diapers?

So the other day when I was in Target I saw a cloth diaper starter kit that was around $100 and included 6 diapers with 12 inserts.  I've been considering using cloth diapers for our second baby, but I don't know much about them and if they are worth it.  Does anyone have an experience with them, good or bad?
