Bloody show vs mucus plug....(sorry tmi)

Ok, so I am officially confused... Is the mucus plug the same thing as bloody show or are they different? If so, what's what? I started losing my mucus plug yesterday and i was just pieces of white mucus on the toilet paper. Today, the pieces of mucus are slightly bigger and are tinged with pink/red/brown. Is this still my mp or is this bloody show? If it's not bloody show....what is bloody show? Thanks!!

I think they're different...from what I understand you can lose (and regrow) your mucous plus several weeks before labor. Some women don't lose theirs at all (or don't notice it).

I lost my mucous plug at 35 weeks.

I had bloody show in the hospital after my doctor broke my water.

I started noticing large globs of my mucus plug at 36 weeks. My doctor said that your body trys to replug up your cervix if you are dialated. I didn't start seeing blood until the day I delivered. That's what I assume was my bloody show.
