Quiet time for toddlers/preschoolers

My girls are 3 years 2 months. One still naps and one does not. They share a room. We recently switched to quiet time instead of trying to force naps. It's been going really well so far. They understand the rules are to be quiet and stay in bed and have been listening for the most part. My questions:

what are your quiet time rules?

how long is quiet time?

when only one naps, how long do you let him/her sleep?

when both nap, do you wake them by a certain time?

when is their wake up? quiet time? bed time?

Re: Quiet time for toddlers/preschoolers

  • I can tell you all the daycares I looked at nap them or do quiet time for 2 hours in the afternoon. They can look at books or rest. 12:30 to 2:30 pm
  • mine also share a room...we aim to do quiet time for 2 hours...if they are crazy in their room I pull one of them out and have them nap in our bed - they both almost always fall asleep for a little bit still...we don't let them nap for more than 3 hours (
