Apparently it's trendy! But I didn't realize that, I don't know a single one. Never met one. I don't care for it, though- it sounds a bit harsh to me. Also, I went to Lincoln school as a kid.

I think it's trendy in the sense that it follows the recent last-as-first trend.
However, I don't think it sounds trendy, isn't made up and has a nice historical connotation.
