OK, so please be honest and tell me if I'm overreacting here...
SO has a "snacking" problem. As in, he wants to and DOES snack at any time of the day. So, um, anytime R sees SO eating chips and dip, or cookies, or ice cream, HE WANTS SOME. To me, this is DUH, DON'T EAT THIS SHIIT IN FRONT OF HIM because I don't want him to think this is OK, especially at this early age. Apparently, SO & I have very different ideas of what's Ok behavior (on more than this issue, but that's another post)
So I casually asked SO as he sat on the couch with a huge bowl of ice cream at 8:30 tonight, and R promptly climed up next to him saying "Ice cream?", what he thought was going to happen. SO looked puzzled, like what was I talking about. UM....THE FACT THAT I DO NOT WANT MY 2YO HAVING FREAKING ICE CREAM AT 8:30 AT NIGHT AND IF HE SEES YOU EATING IT HE'S GOING TO WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!! And you're sitting here trying to eat it in front of him like it's no big deal...
So SO got pissed, threw his bowl of ice cream away, and stormed off to the bedroom. And I haven't talked to him since.
So, do your SOs do this stuff? Or am I the only one with a completely clueless "Father of the Year"?
ETA: That last part was mean. Sorry. But he isn't exactly FOTY material lately...
Re: Do any of your DHs/SOs do this?

My DH does dim witted things from time to time too and I usually vent about it here. Most re
DH is the worst snacker ever. It is rediculous. And to make matters worse DD actually ignored his eating until just a few months ago. Only lately has she been as persisitent with eating daddy's as she is with eating mommy's.

Shockingly, no, MH doesn't do this, lol. We are both big snackers, but we indulge our bad habit after the kids go to sleep.
If I eat a snack during the day, I quickly shove a few handfuls of whatever it is, in my mouth while hiding in the kitchen
if/when this happens DH realizes it right away and vows not to do it again. And same goes for me (occasionally I am the problem, esp given that DS likes the same things as me.) DH and I are on the same page about this.
It's very frustrating
I'd be irritated, especially if you've talked about this before.
If we snack on junk food, we try to be stealthy about it if its nearing lunch, supper or bedtime. Otherwise, we know we have to share. DH doesn't like to share his food
My FI is a crazy snacker too. He usually keeps his snacking to late night binges though, like after I'm asleep. Until recently I thought he just never ate, because he never really seems hungry. Then I realized that he eats an entire bag of wachuse
I don't really have a problem with snacking as long as it's mostly healthy food. We really eat pretty healthy, and DS typically asks for healthy snacks, so I don't mind if he has a little treat once in a while.
As kids get older I think it's hard
Once again ladies, THANK YOU!!! You have all been such a wonderful support system for me, you have no idea!
I apologized to SO tonight at dinner about the "ice cream incident" last night, and it was fine. I then non-confrontationall
