Remember the posts about eating the placenta, carting it around, etc? I have a friend who's having a baby and was talking about how some cultures recommend it. And her sister, who has not had a child, was just talking about how she should eat it since it's good for you and probably better than some of the stuff we put in our bodies nowadays. Took me back to the good ol' days when those were the things we were wondering about, before we had our outside babies and those were the last things on our minds. Aww, memories.

I really wanted to see mine (not eat it, gross), but the doctor took it away too fast. DH got an eyeful and I made him describe it to me, lol.

There are some celebrities that have talked about getting their placenta made into pills to take. Holly Madison and January Jones I know did. So gross IMO. I know we are the only mammals that don't but we are also a tad more evolved than other mammals.
