Feeling Desperate

DS has never been a terrific sleeper during the day, usually only napping if we hold him, and only for 20-45 mins. Our saving grace was that we was a decent sleeper at night, waking every 3 to 4 hours to eat, then right back down. Well, then he got a cold, followed by croup, followed by an ear infection. After being on meds for his ear infection, last week we got two days in a row of his "normal" sleep...then Friday and last night he was up CONSTANTLY, and would only sleep about 10 to 30 mintutes at a time even with us holding him. We are dying here. He was 20 weeks yesterday. He does have a runny/stuffy nose and is showing signs of teething, but I just don't know what to do anymore. We haven't even been able to transition him to his crib yet. Any advice? We started reading up on sleep training, but I don't know if that is the right move, since the issue may be from his illnesses, teething, etc. what do we do?!

I would honestly do whatever it takes to get him to sleep...if its co sleeping, the swing whatever...I would do it.  My DD sleeps in a bouncy seat in her cosleeper.  I'm not ready for her to move and she sleeps well this way.  My DS slept i

I also find DD will sleep better if she has a decent nap...this usually means me nursing her to sleep and staying with her in our bed and every time she stirs give her a boob...not sure if you BF or FF but I assume it would work if you had the bottles nex

If he still has a runny nose his ear infection may have returned.  get that checked out before you try sleep training.  I feel for oyu though.  None of my kids were good sleepers the first year.
