Shes still not grabbing things.

Called my doctor cause I'm worried about my daughter. She'll be five months on March 27th, but she was six weeks early so her adjusted age is about 3 and a half months. She still isn't grabbing for or reaching her arms out for anything. If you put something in her hands she'll hold it and put it right up to her mouth but she doesn't try to get anything herself, even when shes really interested in whatever it is. And she drops stuff really easily when it is put in her hands. I understand all babies are different, plus she was early... but I'm still very worried about how late this is. "/ Almost all conditions say If babies are born prematurely, or have very low birthweight, or tramatic births, they're at a higher risk for whatever it is.. and she had all that. Called her doctor and he said he'll discuss it more if she still isn't at her six month appt. I'll do anything I have to for my girl, I just hope if anything is wrong she can still live a normal full life! She may just be a really slow developer. I don't know, just wanted to vent. My fianc? doesn't seem to like to talk about it he thinks im worrying for nothing.

  • I second that you need to use the adjusted age. My baby was born 2 weeks late and wasn't grabbing things until after 4 months so I can't imagine how late she would be if she was a premie. Now my dd won't stop grabbing everything. Don't worry, it will
