  Makes me sad to own one. However, I didn't know about all of this until the babywearing GTG, at that point it was too late.

 

(that being said, J's finally old enough to wear her in it comfortably, it's a great thing! She napped in it yesterday while at the park)

What a pity... because I love my Ergo....

The thing that bugs me is that they weren't the first company with this design.  Ergo had been a mama-made product in a small group of similar products, but was a sold to a large manufacturer.  That manufacturer paid for a patent and then tried to put all its competitors out of business, and even tried to force businesses that stocked their competitors' products to pay them a dividend on those other products or stop carrying those products.  The BWing community was a small, friendly, and close community.  All the mom-u-facturers tried to help each other even though we were competitors -- a "there's room for everyone" mentality -- and this was kind of a huge blow for us.
