Cloth Diapering

Is there a difference...

Diaper sprayer versus a bidet?

I know most american homes don't have bidets, but it might be nice to try one. Who knows maybe they'll become the norm here... muahaha.

Anyway, I feel like it would be much better to have a dual use object that a single use. And since baby isn't here yet, let alone having started solids... there is absolutely no rush. Just thought I'd see if there was any real difference or if it's the same thing just marketed differently.

Thanks!

  • I had one of those Japanese bidet seats at my old house. I don't know if that is what you are asking about? It warmed the water and the spray was a little adjustable as far as pressure and front/back. I used this instead of the hospital peri bottle.<
  • Our sprayer is technically a handheld bidet.. We haven't ever used it as such.

A bidet is one of them.  A real bidet, like the kind that looks like a toilet almost.

I tried to use it once.  I sprayed myself in the face. don't ask. It al

  • Haha. I should have specified better.

The hand held bidets vs diaper sprayer appear to be the same. I get that a "real" bidet is different.

  • Yeah, the handheld bidets and diaper sprayers are essentially the same thing. I will say that when my DS was born the bidet / diaper sprayer was awesome for PP care! It's a million times better than a peri bottle. Cold as heck but oh so nice. I had a l
