That's the magic of the expensive diapers. Store brand diapers tend to be thicker/bulkier in my experience. Don't worry, the pampers will hold plenty of pee; they swell up and become squishy when wet.
They are thin, because they are for a newborn, and they don't need to be thick. They do hold a lot, but you will also be changing them pretty frequently.
